This is my slide for the extinct creatures that roamed on earth which is what we did for reading (Tui Street Heroes). My creature was a bird and it was the Eyles Harrier.
Hello Jonathan , Thanks for sharing this slide. I have not heard of this harrier. I have read about the Haast Eagle, which was another large bird that once lived in Aotearoa. I wonder if there is a difference between harriers and eagles? Mrs G
Hi Jono, thanks for sharing- I hadn't heard of the Eyles Harrier before! I was curious to read more and found an article that said the Haast's eagle was the largest eagle in the world with the Eyles' harrier being the largest harrier in the world. Would have been an impressive sight!
Hello Jono, Thanks for sharing your work. You have selected what I think is the most important information for the me to understand the Eyles harrier. If you are keen on presevering our native species you might want to join the school rat trapping programme.
Hi Jono, thanks for sharing. I'm just going to change this and embed the slide here so people can see it on the blog : )
