St John's

Today on the 22nd of the 8th we learnt about how to save someone's life.We were taught by a st john worker and her name is Katherine about if someone was lying on the ground knocked out what we would do to save someone. We were taught drsabcd which stands for danger, response, send for help, airway, breathing, cpr and defib/defibrillation.We ended up doing drsab and the st john worker said that she will come back and tell us about cd.We had to have partners to work with to do 3 activities she gave us.The first activity was how to help someone if they are unconscious you look for any surrounding danger then you respond to the patient so you tap them on their collar bone to see if they are sleeping. When they are sleeping they will wake up but if they don't respond to you.You send for help if there is no help, then check if they are breathing by putting your ear up close to their nose and put your hand in the middle of the chest, but before you do that tilt their head back because if they are unconscious their body goes floppy including the tung and if the tung flops back that will stop air from going through the airway. After we had to pull them on their side and rotate so that the next person will do the same thing.

  1. Hi Johno,
Great writing especially when you included the first aid facts about how to get someone breathing. Thanks.

  2. Kia Ora Jono,
This is great writing. Some things you could work on are some more punctuation like more commas. This is great work though.
    Blog ya later,
    Jess
